
   (1) Preparation of culture medium

     1.Prepare medium

LB	YPD
yeast extract 5 g	yeast extract 10 g
tryptone 10 g	peptone 20 g
NaCl 10 g	Dextrose (Glucose) 20 g
add water to 1 liter	add water to 1 liter
add 15 g agar, if desired	add 20 g agar, if desired


    2. Autoclave the medium for 20 minutes on liquid cycle.
    3. Cool solution to ~55 0C and add antibiotics, if desired.
    4. Pour plates and wait for at least half an hour to allow medium get solidified.
 
  Homework:
   1.On each plate, either spread liquid sample (ex. drinking water, drink yogurt, 
     fresh milk) or press your fingerprint. Incubate the plates at room temperature
     for 2 days. Describe the colony appearances on each plate.
