Introduction of ExPASy Molecular Biology Serever

The ExPASy (Expert Protein Analysis System) proteomics server of the Swiss Institute of Bio-informatics (SIB) contains protein sequences, structures and 2-D PAGE databases, and also offers the analysis tools of them.

Databases

SWISS-PROT and TrEMBL SWISS-PROT provides a high level of annotations (protein function, structure, post-translational modifications, variants...) and integration with other databases; TrEMBL is a computer-annotated supplement of SWISS-PROT.
PROSITE  PROSITE is a database of protein families and domains. It consists of biologically significant sites, patterns and profiles that help to reliably identify to which known protein family (if any) a new sequence belongs.
SWISS-2DPAGE  SWISS-2DPAGE contains data on proteins identified on various 2-D PAGE and SDS-PAGE reference maps.
SWISS-3DIMAGE  SWISS-3DIMAGE provides 3 D structure of biological macromolecules. The database contains both experimentally elucidated structures and theoretical protein models. (The mono and stereo pictures are available.)
SWISS-MODEL Repository  Automatically generated protein models
CD40Lbase The purpose of the CD40Lbase is to collect clinical and molecular data on CD40 ligand defects leading to X-linked Hyper-IgM syndrome
ENZYME ENZYME is a repository of information relative to the nomenclature of enzymes. It describes each type of characterized enzyme for which an EC (Enzyme Commission) number has been provided
SeqAnalRef SeqAnalRef is a bibliographic reference data bank relative to papers dealing with sequence analysis.

Melanie 3 Melanie 3 is the all-in-one solution for analyzing, annotating and querying your 2D gel samples. It offers sophisticated state-of-the-art analysis for the identification, quantification and matching of gels.
SWISS-MODEL SWISS-MODEL is an Automated Protein Modelling Server.
Swiss-PdbViewer  The proteins can be superimposed in order to deduce structural alignments and compare their active sites or any other relevant parts, so amino acid mutations, H-bonds, angles and distances between atoms are easy to obtain.
Boehringer Mannheim's Biochemical Pathways  This list contains links to the ENZYME Database and to all maps of "Biochemical Pathways" in which this entry appears.
