Identify the position in human genome of the gene related to Creutzfeld-Jakob disease.（請寫出詳細步驟）

(a) Search LocusLink database in Human Genome Resource in NCBI. Give locusID and cytogenetic location of the gene related to CJD ( Creutzfeld-Jakob disease ).

1.先連結到NCBI網站http://www.ncbi.nih.gov/，點選畫面右方的LocusLink進入LocusLink畫面。

2.在LocusLink首頁中上方搜尋欄位中填入"Creutzfeld-Jakob"，並確認是搜尋LocusLink資料庫。

3.搜尋結束後即會自動導向結果頁面，可以直接看到locusID以及cytogenic location。此處可看到CJD的LocusID為5621，基因位於第20號染色體的短臂上12的位置。

4.如果點選position "20pter-p12"則可進入該chromosome map裡面觀看CJD基因詳細的位置。

(b) Give the exact start and stop number of the gene in the chromosome genomic contig (ex. 1083622-1041168).

1.在chromosome map中標出CJD基因位置處點選右方"sv"連結則可以看到CJD基因的完整序列資料。

2.此時如點選畫面上方人類第20號染色體的GenBank連結則可瀏覽該筆資料。

3.往下捲頁至4600K左右即可看見CJD mRNA的資訊，其中寫到CJD基因包含了4607120-4607158以及4619857-4622233兩段序列。

(c) Find its possible homologous gene in mouse (M.musculus). Give the name and accession number of the gene.

1.在CJD基因的LocusLink頁面上點選右方的"U"按鈕則會自動針對此一基因搜尋其UniGene orthologs。

2.於搜尋出來的UniGene頁面上選取Mus musculus，即可看見M. musculus中類似基因的資料。

由下圖可以看出該M. musculus基因的ACCESSION No.為P04925，全名為"Major prion protein precursor (PrP) (PrP27-30) (PrP33-35C)

(d) Search Maps in in Human Genome Resource in NCBI. How many hits do you found? Give the chromosome number and Maps view .

1.回到NCBI首頁，點選畫面右方的"Human Genome Resources"文字。

2.進入Human Genome Resources頁面之後於上方搜尋處輸入"Creutzfeld-Jakob"後按下搜尋鈕。

3.在搜尋結果頁中可以很清楚的看到此一基因位於人類第20號染色體短臂上。

4.若點選下方的"PNRP" Map Element連結則可進入觀看詳細染色體圖。
