Taiwanese students don't be shy! :) We all speak moderate Chinese and it is a good opportunity for you to improve your English. On top of it, we do top-notch neuroscience research. Many of our students enter a great career after graduation. Two of my former students are now Postdocs at Stanford University and many others have decent positions in BioTech.

Average graduation time is (and has always been) 2 years for Master students and 6 years for PhD students. If you are focused and hard-working 5 years for PhD is possible.

Lab tour

Our facility consists of 5 rooms including:

  • 2 large laboratory units including gradient PCR, 3 centrifuges, gel-documentation, micro-needle puller etc.
  • 1 microscope room including a fully automated confocal spinning disk microscope (with an watercooled EMCCD camera and microinjection device) and 2 fluorescence stereo microscopes
  • 1 cell culture room
  • An adjacent space with 2 large -80 freezers and 3 incubators for C. elegans maintenance
  • 1 student study room and Oliver's office
